New Zealand Studio Pottery Stoneware Bowl – Geometric Band
This New Zealand studio pottery stoneware bowl reflects the confident, graphic style that emerged in local ceramics from the late 20th century onward. The simple rounded form is paired with a bold geometric band in earthy tones, giving the piece a strong visual presence while remaining highly functional.
The bowl is signed on the base with a stylised jug mark incorporating the initial “H”. Similar examples have been found around South Auckland and the Coromandel region, suggesting small-scale studio production rather than factory manufacture.
A solid, well-made piece that works equally well as a functional bowl or styled on a shelf as part of a contemporary or retro-inspired interior. The bowl is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 20.5cm in diameter and 12cm tall, with a generous depth that makes it suitable for both everyday use and display.
